Carmel Fields Wedding | Carmel, CA - Matthew & Kimberly
Matthew and Kimberly’s story wasn’t something that arrived all at once. It grew slowly, quietly, and in its own time. They met as co-workers at Jollibee, sharing long shifts and daily carpools that turned routine days into familiar company. There was no spark at the start. No expectations. Just two people who crossed paths without knowing where it would lead.
Life shifted and their routines changed, and they went their separate ways for a while. A year later, they crossed paths again. He asked her out twice and she said no both times. On the third try, she agreed, but the timing still felt off. Everything changed after a simple day in San Francisco. They shared udon, climbed steps, and watched the city from Twin Peaks. Something settled between them. What never aligned before finally found its place. Nearly five years later, they’re still choosing each other and I think that is so cute.
A week before their celebration with friends and family, they exchanged vows in a church surrounded by only their closest loved ones at their church. I felt the meaning of that moment the second they told me about it. Their faith guided their decision to begin their marriage at the altar before anything else. It grounded the promise they made to each other, steady and intentional. Their reception followed one week later, giving them the chance to celebrate with the community that shaped their lives.
Their faith has helped shape their relationship in steady and quiet ways. They told me how it helped them through stress, distance, and uncertainty. I noticed how they talk about prayer with ease and how it kept them patient when life felt heavy. It helped them grow, both as individuals and as a couple, and helped them trust the path even when they didn’t know what the next step would look like.
I had the pleasure of capturing their celebration. From the moment they arrived, I saw a calm confidence in them. They already said their vows in the place that mattered most, and you could feel the peace that came with that. She carried warmth. He carried steadiness. Together, they felt grounded and present.
Their connection showed in small moments. Soft glances. Easy laughter. A natural rhythm built over years of learning each other’s pace. Covid tested them early, but they stayed steady. They talked through the hard moments. They found ways to re-center and move forward without losing their softness.
When they talked about each other, I saw how close their love sits to the surface. Matthew loves her layers and the spark she brings into every space. Kimberly loves his depth, his warmth, and the way he makes her laugh even when she doesn’t want to. Their shared faith helped them build a relationship that feels strong, intentional, and rare.
Outside their relationship, they fill their days with music, food, and small adventures. I noticed how they stay curious together and how natural it feels for them to explore life side by side.
As they stepped into their reception surrounded by friends and family, I felt how well it reflected the week before. A bright day. A true day. A day that honored both where they started and where they’re going with purpose and faith.
Matthew and Kimberly’s story is rooted in patience, timing, and the quiet decision to choose each other again and again.
With love,
