Emelia & Joey | Elopement in Yosemite, California

We first met Emelia and Joey a couple years ago through a mutual friend of ours in high school. I want to say that they were the 5th or 6th couple that we booked when we started this business.

They were going to have their wedding at the Ritz-Carlton, an incredible venue in Half Moon Bay known for being one of America’s beloved luxury hotels. But because of COVID-19 they had to change their plans. So together we brainstormed something to make it right for them, and immediately we asked if they wanted to go on a full day adventure to a place we know real well. They were intrigued by the idea, especially since both venues had such different vibes. But it’s the least we can do to match the incredible Ritz! So we planned our day accordingly, with travel guides, custom itineraries, and a handful of consultations.

This elopement is a perfect example of what a full day of photography looks like, and it really is the best experience for photographer- everything slows down, we get to enjoy the views and create art with no time constraint, and we got to catch both sunrise AND sunset. A photographer’s dream!!

I’m super glad that we got to be a part of their elopement experience before the upper valley closed for the Winter (a tip for my wedding photographers, by the way! They close down the roads that lead up to Taft Point and Glacier Point due to the ice).

We’ll let the photography speak for itself. :-) Emelia and Joey, congratulations once again!
