Twin Oaks Wedding | San Marcos, CA - Sharon & Michael
Some weddings feel like reunions, and Michael and Sharon’s was exactly that. They found us through two of our past couples, Jason and Sophia and Anita and Clifford, whose weddings we had the honor of capturing years prior. Seeing everyone again felt like catching up with old friends, each couple now in a new chapter of their lives, all gathered to celebrate another love story that had been years in the making.
Michael and Sharon’s wedding wasn’t just a single day; it was a story years in the making. From a chance encounter in Las Vegas that turned into a long-distance romance, their journey has always been about timing, trust, and the kind of laughter that fills a room. What started as friendship grew into something steady, joyful, and deeply connected.
Our team at FJM had the pleasure of flying into San Diego to capture their celebration. The morning began with a light drizzle that had everyone watching the skies, but just as guests began to arrive, the clouds parted and the sun came through. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect, as if the day itself was waiting to shine for them. From there, it was nothing but blue skies, a soft breeze, and that golden California light photographers dream of.
The wedding party set the tone from the start. The groomsmen kicked off the morning with laughter, unwrapping Pokémon cards and keeping the energy light and fun. The bridesmaids looked stunning in pastel pink, each wearing a different style that reflected their own personality while still tying beautifully into the spring garden theme. Every detail felt intentional, fresh, soft, and elegant, like a scene pulled straight from a modern fairytale.
The ceremony was filled with emotion. Surrounded by blooms (lots of them) and loved ones, Michael and Sharon took a quiet moment to bow to their parents, honoring the love and sacrifices that shaped who they are. It was a moment of gratitude that grounded the entire day.
Cocktail hour was a hit with a sushi hand-roll station that had everyone coming back for seconds. Later, the ice cream bar became the perfect late-night surprise, the sweetest way to end a night full of laughter and dancing.
When the music started, the energy was electric (s/o to Adam @adm_entertainment). From K-pop to EDM, the dance floor came alive as friends and family moved together in pure joy, celebrating love that felt effortless and real. We even found ourselves dancing with everyone!
From the beginning, Michael and Sharon told us they wanted their day to feel natural and unposed. They didn’t want perfection, only presence. We focused on capturing the in-between moments, the smiles, tears, and laughter that tell the real story. This wedding was more than a celebration. It was two families coming together, two cultures blending, and two hearts finding home in each other.
As the sun set over San Marcos, surrounded by music, color, and love, we felt so grateful to have been there. Michael and Sharon’s wedding wasn’t just unforgettable; it was a reminder of why we do what we do.
With love,
Victorio & FJM
