Hannah & Thien's Wedding | Boulder Ridge San Jose Wedding

Hannah & Thien | 04.09.2022 | Boulder Ridge in San Jose, CA

Complimentary - A word I’d use to describe these two. When Hannah and Thien first reached out to us a year ago, we could already tell from the get-go that they were made for each other. Hannah described their relationship as opposites as she was was raised being sheltered and reserved while Thien being very independent and extroverted. The two had a humoristic tone with each other throughout our first consultation call that clearly showed the type of love they had for each other – playful, witty, and quirky.

We first had the chance to know Thien & Hannah more during our engagement shoot at Palace of Fine Arts and Mt. Tamalpais back in 2021. There, we talked about everything from our childhood, passions, relationships, and outlooks on life. It’s moments like these that remind me of why I enjoy doing what I do. It’s more than just the shoot itself - it’s about the connections and relationships you’re able to cultivate with the couple that carry throughout the experience of working together. I remember the moment we drove up Mt. Tamalpais and seeing the reactions of these two when they first laid their eyes on a low fog event and being above the clouds. It was priceless and an experience that I was so honored to show the couple. Remember that Hannah and Thien?

When it came time for the wedding day, I knew it would be as easy to capture them the same as when we had our engagement shoot. That’s why we cherish engagement shoots so much because they really help break the ice and get everyone familiarized with each other. One of the most memorable moments during the day was when we noticed a huge fire breaking out right below the venue hill. It seemed like it was literally a mile or two away. Within minutes, you could smell and see the pitch black smoke from the venue. Instead of letting that incident ruin the mood, Hannah and Thien asked to take photos with the smoke and it was a no brainer that we were for the idea. This made for some of the most epic photos we’ve ever taken. There were so many moments during the day that stood out to us from Thien shouting out loud “I DOOO” during the ceremony to the moment during the reception where he serenaded to Hannah with his brothers. Of course, we couldn’t forget the video that Hannah put together of the couple’s relationship over the years.

We appreciate you guys for having us be a part of your big day!

Cheers to your marriage, Hannah & Thien!

David
