Dominic & Sindell's Wedding | Manhattan, New York

If you asked me a year ago that I was going to document love in New York, I wouldn’t believe it.

Fast forward to today and I had the pleasure of doing just that. Dominic (David’s brother) and Sindell live there, and they asked our team to hop along for the ride. Without hesitation, I said yes. It’s one of the best things about this job - getting to travel to some of the most beautiful places in the world while documenting love along the way.

I first met Dominic and Sindell back in 2017. My friends and I decided to spend a week in New York for vacation, and they became our unofficial tour guides. I remember them taking us out to Korea town and to one of the rooftop bars in the Rockerfeller Building. When I think about a super fun couple with jokes for days and a vibe that can only be described as true best friends, I think of them. They are super genuine, accommodating, loving people. And that was on full display at their wedding.

The experience was surreal, to say the least.

We started our day in Dominic and Sindell’s hotel room getting ready, where they had a 180-degree, panoramic view of the city. For the first look photos, we made our way to the New York Public Library, famous for their Beaux-Arts style of architecture. We then made our way to the St. Patrick’s cathedral for their ceremony, one of the largest cathedrals in the country. Afterward, we took photos on the streets of New York and made sure to make it extra NY by taking photos near hotdog stands, taxi cabs, and 5th avenue. After the shoot, we walked to the Pool for their reception, one of New York’s premier event destinations known for its interior elements such as the glass walls the ceiling’s recessed lighting fixtures, and the pool in the middle of the dining area.

The vibe was incredible.

There was a Great Gatsby feel to it, but with genuine love in the air. It felt grandiose but intimate. When Dom and Sindell were giving their thank-you speech, I looked at their family and friends and I can feel how much they cared about them. When Sindell danced with her father, she teared up because he was so happy. When everyone hit the dance floor, the energy was infectious. I remember someone bringing out a chair for Dom to surf the crowd on. A true rock star.

One of my highlights of the night (and this could be just because I’m not used to the New York-ness of it all), was the end of Dom’s thankyou speech. I remember him saying:

By the way, after party tonight at Den Social (one of New York’s premiere night clubs)! Just say you’re here for Dom and Sindell at the door.

It was super rad.

Congratulations again, Dominic and Sindell! It was an honor capturing your guys’ wedding day.
