Willow Heights Mansion Wedding | Alex & Dan

We had the pleasure of capturing Alex and Dan’s wedding, and what a beautiful celebration it was. Their love story is as unique as their backgrounds—Dan is Jamaican, and Alex is Jordanian—bringing together two incredible cultures in a wedding filled with love, joy, and the energy of friends and family from all over.

Alex and Dan met in 2019 on Hinge—your classic modern-day romance. At the time, they were both in grad school, and when Dan first saw Alex, he just knew he had to have her. Though they were never officially dating during school (despite Dan implying otherwise!), their connection was undeniable. For the first year and a half, they navigated a long-distance relationship, but distance couldn’t keep them apart. Eventually, Dan proposed in the most picturesque setting—China Beach.

Alex describes Dan as incredibly hardworking, but also a big nerd at heart. Dan, on the other hand, sees Alex as both brilliant and beautiful. They share a love for adventure, snowboarding, and most importantly—making each other laugh. Their bond is built on fun, spontaneity, and a deep appreciation for the little moments.

Their wedding weekend kicked off with a rehearsal dinner at SP2, a stylish bar and eatery in downtown San Jose. It was there that we got a true glimpse into their world—a beautiful blend of family, culture, and an undeniable excitement for the big day ahead. From that first dinner, we knew their wedding was going to be a party.

And a party it was! With over 200 guests, their wedding day was packed with energy, love, and vibrant cultural traditions. They exchanged vows at the breathtaking St. Ignatius Church in downtown San Jose, followed by a reception at the elegant Willow Heights Mansion. The atmosphere was electric—filled with laughter, music, and heartfelt moments.

During their photo session, the bridal party already had a lineup of creative poses in mind, including an Al Pacino-inspired group shot that had everyone cracking up. The celebration continued with a lively cocktail hour featuring Jamaican drums and bongos, leading into a full-on Congo line where guests danced and celebrated together. This cultural fusion and energy from family and friends created a truly unforgettable experience, perfectly capturing the essence of their love story.
